  • My friends tell me I’m easily inspired.

Two years ago, I walked around with a tree guide in my back pocket hoping to learn all about the native trees in our area. Before that, I bought a harmonica (key of C... big mistake) and aspired to play one mad harp! I began shooting my freshman year at Indiana University when I took an intro. to photography class. It didn't take long before I was inspired again! Ask me about trees or harps and I will gladly tell you all about them. Ask me about photography and, five hours later, you will regret you ever did : )

After God and family, photography consumes me.

The significants of a stone

Seventy Years

Today I get to move one stone from the jar on the left and place it in the jar on the right. Why? Because today I turn 27 years old.

A friend gave me these two jars for my birthday last year. Together they are filled with 70 stones. One jar is for years spent and the other is for years left. The bible says we are given 70 years, 80 if we’re lucky.

Every birthday I move one stone from the “years left” jar to the “years spent” jar. It’s a great reminder that our days are numbered and each day, week, month, and year, means something. It’s tangible. It gives me perspective every day.

Morse family photos in Bremen, Indiana

What a pleasure it was to create some family photos for my friends the Morse’s. They are some of the smartest, funniest, most loving people I know. Beautiful from the inside out. I’ve known Jim and Jan since I was just a young buck. Jim taught me everything I know about guitars and Jan put at least a few pounds on me with her warm chocolate chip cookies – not to mention all the life lessons, support, and love these people have generously given to Abby and I over the years!

Merry Christmas guys! Thanks for looking so good!
