  • My friends tell me I’m easily inspired.

Two years ago, I walked around with a tree guide in my back pocket hoping to learn all about the native trees in our area. Before that, I bought a harmonica (key of C... big mistake) and aspired to play one mad harp! I began shooting my freshman year at Indiana University when I took an intro. to photography class. It didn't take long before I was inspired again! Ask me about trees or harps and I will gladly tell you all about them. Ask me about photography and, five hours later, you will regret you ever did : )

After God and family, photography consumes me.

…but not before I show you this picture that Abby so graciously posed for.  This was the shot from you-know-where.  The bright late afternoon sky against Abby (who was standing in the shade) lead to some exposure difficulties.  I’ve been working more and more with my flash, but haven’t gained complete control over it (and probably never will!).  After many many tries, I came out with this one.  My new Totally Rad actions really helped out here.  I will post a before and after next time.  But for now, I have some thanking to do.

Abby, Mom, and Dad – You put up with a lot of photography talk, pictures, and hours upon hours of me glued to the computer monitor or my camera.  You are all very patient and at least act like your listening.  I like that.

Jane, Ben, Coty & Ashley – You are always willing to answer my silly questions and give me artistic inspiration.  I can’t wait to pay it forward.

Todd – You’ve lit a fire under me.  I am in debt to you for your leadership and motivation.  You’ve helped give me a vision and “think big”.  Thank you.

There’s probably a lot more thanking to go around.  But, these are just a few of the important people in my life.

I really like that black and white portrait by the green window.
